It’s my Birthday today and my wife wanted to buy me snake as she knows I’ve wanted another one for years. I had a Corn Snake when I was 12. She only lived for a relatively short 10 years.
With my illness, moving house, kids etc. it’s been another 10 years before I’ve had the time and space and energy to handle another reptile.
I can’t really think of any reptiles that I don’t like, but for me Dragons, Tegu’s, Gekos and Tortoise rank up there with snakes.
Talking to the chap in the reptile shop I explained that I have three young children and wanted something that they could handle too, and thought another Corn snake would be good.
He told me that Bearded Dragons are even better than snakes for kids. They grow quickly and will enjoy being handled more than a snake and will be more entertaining.
The chap got a medium sized dragon out to show us. My three year old loved him. He had a little stroke and the Dragon was really calm, relaxed and friendly.
So, a Dragon it was. Bought an 8 week old, really tiny Red Hypo German Giant. He is going to need a lot of looking after as babies have ferocious apetites.
Just need a name for him now …
Fab photo. He is lovely. We want 1. Wondered how long it would take b4 you started snapping away. Totally understandable. You have captured him/her perfectly.
After studying this excellent photo, I am going to get one.Is two dragons in the house too much? Only joking dear wife!!!!
